Thank You

Thank you for your confidence.  You will not be disappointed.  Residents in the other three wards also chose candidates that are ready to bring common sense and honesty back to the council.

Here we go again... down the crapper like we have been for the last 20 years. All this talk about common sense is a load of crap. There are four on the Council already who try to preach such things. Instead of getting things accomplished, they hold back progress while our Town is passed by again by Thornton and Westminster. Well done.

As a City, we need to invest in ourselves, but instead people like Gene want to cut taxes, invest in nothing, and let our City go to waste. We can't build a Fitness Center (we need to compete with the other locales) or other necessary infrastructure (a up to date wastewater facility or streets). We don't we just give up and be annexed by Thornton? that would be a lot less painful to watch than to have to hear about Gene and his cronies claiming success while perpetuating failure.

My only hope is that the new Council sees the light and actually decides to invest in the City, respects the Staff (several members of the current council don't... that is incredibly petty), and moves Northglenn back to being a place where people want to live instead of the place it has become.

The city has lost some of its luster not because we don't have a fifty million dollar rec-center,but because most of its housing is not being kept up to minimal standards. We need a council that will have a backbone. Not one that argues in meetings week after week and still can't decide where trash cans should be placed.People want to live in clean well kept neighborhoods,a huge under used rec-center was not going to turn Northglenn around.Common sense and solid leadership is exactly what we need.

Why do some people in our city feel we need to compete with Thornton and Westminster when it comes to rec-centers and other grand structures? They are 4 times larger than us.Should we get into a battle with them as who can build the bigger toys we will lose.

Like it or not, Northglenn is competing with Westminster and Thornton for good residents. If you build a rec center, you can attract young people who care about the well being of the community and will up their houses and lawns. If you don't have a rec center, those people move elsewhere and you have what we have... a bunch of people that like to sit around and complain about how their infrastructure is failing, but have no desire to increase their taxes.

And yes, I moved out of Northglenn. Didn't want to, but was tired of riding the sinking ship. My neighbors yards were trashed and they didn't seem to care. I was already driving to the Westminster Rec Center because the Northglenn Rec Center is decrepit. So, I moved.

If we don't get it together, Northglenn is doing to fail even further behind. Don't believe this crap about saving money. Northglenn bought that hook, line, and sinker during the 80s and 90s. During that period, we invested no money in infrastructure because the council was trying to save us money. Look where that got us? All we did was rob Peter to pay Pauls (typical conservative mantra - I'll lower your taxes now so your children can pay more in the future.). Anyway, off my soapbox.

I hope Gene and the new Council do come through and help the City move forward instead of trying to put us in reverse.

    Honesty? Hmmm....

Hey Gene- why did you get fired from Federal Heights? You "KNOW" your termination letter is "public record", and a lot of people have seen it...

"Ethics? Honesty?" You might know the answer to this one. Can someone serve on City Council if they don't actually "live" in Northgelnn? Or their Ward?

    Hmmm...
